Netzach shebe Gevurah= The Hall of Fame

One of the best things about being an artist is that I am around a great deal of amazing art–not just in museums, but work  made by my (mostly) living breathing friends.  I live in small space and most of the minimal wall space is dedicated to the constantly changing gallery of my own works in progress.  But the house has this lovely wide staircase and a collection of our favorite artworks by others has been arranging itself over the past several years into what we call “the Hall of Fame”.  It is a high honor for any artist to give some wall space to another’s work.  So, Joyce came and she put up a light so that those artworks in the Hall of Fame could be enjoyed more fully.  (I spotted her while she worked!) It looks beautiful.

That night (Friday) I counted the 11th day of the Omer, Netzach shebe Gevurah, Endurance in Strength and Fear, which all true artists know about.  I held up my wine and  gave a toast to all who inhabit the Hall of Fame and thanked my friends for continuing to strengthen me every time I walk up to my studio.
