Still life with glass bottle, black pitcher and cream pot

oil on canvas, 12″ x 16″, 2010

This still life was also done under Jaye’s direction—but much quicker, about an hour yesterday and three today.  Though the painting, particularly the black pot, is not as nicely built up, It was good to work with almost the same materials, but adding the glass and trying the technique on canvas instead of board.  It was good to see what could be done in this way in less time and more directly.

I will miss working with Jaye until February, but I’ll keep experimenting with these new tools and techniques and see what evolves over the next few weeks in my own studio.
