Anna and the prayer plant at the Old Mill House

Anna and the prayer plant at the Old Mill House in Shaftsbury, oil on birch plywood, 16″ x 24, July 2011.

There are two things I love to paint most:  Landscapes and the people I love.  So, lately, painting Anna at the old Mill House brings the two together and it just doesn’t get any better.

I love this painting. There is just something about the composition, and all of it together that sings summer. I like the story in it too.
