100 for $100 in Bennington on Saturday

Yup, I’m in.  Come see me and purchase artworks for the insane price of $100 to support our local youth in the arts.  See details in the Press Release below:

ONE HUNDRED FOR $100 JURIED ART EXHIBIT AND SALE

The Better Bennington Corporation’s celebrated event “One Hundred for $100 Juried Art Exhibit and Sale” takes place on Saturday, March 24, at 210 South Street in downtown Bennington.   One hundred works of art by local professional artists will be exhibited and priced for sale at $100 each.  New this year is the opportunity for the artists to include 100 additional works of art that are not restricted to the $100 price tag.

The “Champagne Preview” is from 4pm until 6pm.  During the preview you can speak with the artists, listen to live jazz from “Blueprint”,  enjoy complimentary champagne and hors d’oeuvres, and select your pieces of art in advance of the sale.  The sale begins at 6pm and lasts until 8pm, but arrive early to ensure getting your favorite pieces.  Tickets for the preview are $15.00, but after 6pm everyone is allowed in at no charge.  A cash bar will be available throughout the evening.

Also throughout the evening, Vermont Arts Exchange will be hosting an interactive art exhibit.  Matthew Perry from VAE will be bringing an exciting new perspective to the event with guests participating in the creation of an art exhibit unto itself.  TheBennington Museum and North Bennington Plein Air will also be joining the BBC at this year’s One Hundred for $100 event.

BBC Arts Committee member Judy Kniffin said, “this year we are pleased to include one hundred additional pieces of artwork that the artists get to select.  We’ve always wanted to offer the artists a greater opportunity to exhibit a broader scope of their work, beyond the $100 piece, and we know this format will be the perfect opportunity for them to do that.”

John Shannahan, Downtown Director, says “Bennington’s ‘One Hundred for $100’ in 2012 will prove once again that our town is a significant arts destination, because theBennington region is a center of artistic activity in every medium. So come and take part in this evening of more than two hundred works by local professional artists: painters, sculptors, potters, and mixed media artists. Meet the artists, talk with them about their techniques and what inspires them. Buy an original work at a price lower than you’ll find in the galleries or shops, AND enjoy live entertainment and refreshments too.”

This year’s artists include: Judy Kniffin, Shelli DuBoff, Marie DeVito, Sharon Yorke, Josh Primmer, Stella Ehrich,  Joe Comi, Fred Brownstein, Dan Barber, Samantha Ambrose, Jaye Fox, Heidi Haner, Lydia Johnston, Ann Kremers, Samantha Lamp, Aimee LaPorte, Dale Levitz, Tom Longtin, Ann McCallum, Susan Nowogrodzki, Jessica Phillips, Patricia Smith, Ronald Van Orden, Greg Winterhalter, Jenny Wren, and Ann Webster-Lang.
